Postdoctoral Fellowship
Call for Expressions of Interest — ANID FONDECYT Postdoctoral Fellowship
The Social Networks Group – UC, based at the Institute of Sociology, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, invites expressions of interest from outstanding early-career researchers wishing to apply for the ANID FONDECYT Postdoctoral Fellowship 2027 with our group as the host institution.
We seek researchers whose work aligns with one or more of the following areas:
- Social Network Analysis / Network Science
- Statistical Network Models (ERGMs, SAOMs, Relational Event Models, Stochastic Block Models, etc.)
- Mathematical Sociology
- Computational Social Science
- Science of Science
- Governance Networks
- Organizational Networks
- Educational Networks
- Innovation and Scientific Collaboration Networks
- Network Data Science and Graph Machine Learning
- Methodological and Software Development for Network Analysis
Successful applicants will join an active research environment dedicated to advancing the theory, methodology, and application of social network science through interdisciplinary collaboration.
Expression of interest. Submit a single PDF including: a curriculum vitae; a list of publications; a one-page cover letter describing your research background, motivation, and how your research complements the Social Networks Group – UC; and a two-page summary of your proposed postdoctoral project (research objectives, methodology, and expected contributions).
Deadline for expressions of interest: 14 August 2026.
We particularly welcome applicants with a strong publication record, demonstrated research independence, and expertise in quantitative, computational, or mathematical approaches to social networks. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an online meeting to discuss their proposal before sponsorship decisions are made.
